It's the end of another Hornets hockey season, and although the team did not walk away with a championship, those of us who watched from the stands and rink side would surely all agree that it was a weekend of exciting hockey.
A successful, fulfilling season doesn't happen without the effort and time of alot of dedicated volunteers.
Thanks to Bradi for providing passionate mentorship and coaching to our girls. I think they have had experiences and learned lessons that they will take with them beyond hockey. It is also gratifying to see a female coach on the bench for a women's hockey team.
Thanks to Peter for his incredible generosity to the team and providing wonderful experiences, equipment and opportunities. Also, PC has undoubtedly been the machine behind the team and proven that chocolate milk has indeed engergizing effects on teenaged girls.
Thanks to Sara for holding up the other end of the bench and for providing positive encouragement to the girls. She was a little hard to spot on the bench at times, but her vocal range belied her diminuitive stature.
Thanks to Karen for taking such great care of our girls and listening to the wide range of complaints - physical and otherwise. I can guarantee you that the parents will not have the wherewithall nor the desire to maintain the quality and frequency of rubdowns and pampering afforded by the trainer.
All in all, thanks to all who made this season enjoyable, productive and another memorable chapter in the hockey lives of our daughters. Your efforts are much appreciated!
Good luck to the girls in tryouts this week.
